Elizabeth is a multidisciplinary artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina. A graduate of NC State University with a degree in Art Studies, English, and Anthropology, and of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a concentration in Drama, she has long been captivated by the ways art carries memory and meaning across time and culture. Her academic focus on medieval art, particularly illuminated manuscripts, sparked a fascination with how ancient mediums can be reimagined in the present without losing their contemplative, almost transcendent resonance.
With a background spanning ceramics, dance, and drama, Elizabeth found her deepest connection in stained glass, a medium that, like manuscripts, glows with symbolism and invites introspection. Through her practice, she modernizes ancient art while honoring their ritualistic quality; using glass to explore themes of transformation, memory, and modern mythology.
Emme Glass, a play on her initials E.M., grew from this dialogue between past and present. Each piece reflects her ongoing search for beauty, meaning, and illumination.
