Retrospective

My first year in glass. Experimenting with shapes, themes and forms. My first pieces:

flow, crash, rise captures the quiet strength of a water lily in bloom at night. In swirling blues, soft whites, and deep greens, each piece is a meditation on movement, stillness, and resilience. A reminder that beauty lives in both calm and chaos: in the still pond, in the bloom, and in the becoming - her beginning and mine. My first ever piece.

33 is the average number of facets in any gemstone cut, and for my first series (and second ever stained glass piece) was quite the undertaking. I've always been fascinated by gemstones, and when I had to choose one for my engagement ring - the decision seemed impossible. This gemstone inspired stained glass series ties in the meaning and symbolism of color, gemstone cuts, and their reflection of femininity.

Xaos Theory might feel chaotic, but this series is an exploration of the feminine iconography. These pieces are an experiment in honoring the symmetry of the unexpected, where moons tilt, wings unfurl, and beauty refuses to be still. My first series to be sold in stores, aptly named for the Xaos Collective where I ventured into creating for others.

You Are What You Eat, inspired by my mother, this piece is personified by a rabbit sustained by what she loves. Her flowers (her children, her art) are both her nourishment and her inspiration. I'm honored to be her daughter and deeply grateful for her quiet bravery, which I hope this piece reminds her of daily as it hangs above her door.

Companions of Appalachia is a collection born from my deep love for the Appalachian Mountains, their folklore, and the magic of fall. As a native North Carolinian, I grew up celebrating my birthday each year at Grandfather Mountain, where the changing leaves and mountain air became a part of my story. This series is a nod to the symbols, myths, and quiet history that live in the mountains - those companions we find in both nature and our culture. In these works, companions are more than figures; they are the friends, stories, and fleeting presences that remind us of where we are, where we’ve been, and the timeless spirit of the Appalachians.
